Leo Donald Burr, Jr.

Leo Donald Burr, Jr., aged 46, died of a malignant brain tumor at the Brian Center Nursing Facility & Rehab, Charlotte, North Carolina on November 14, 2005.

The deceased is survived by his wife, Jean Elizabeth McIntosh Burr of Charlotte, his parents, Leo & Shirley Burr of Driggs, Idaho, his siblings Andrea Dinsmore of Skykomish, Washington, and Donald Leo Burr of Westlake Village, California. Leo was preceded in death by baby daughter Jennifer Ann Burr on March 11, 1987.

Leo was born in Inglewood, California, March 11, 1959 and is a graduate of Teton High School in Driggs, Idaho, June, 1977. Leo served in the Army as a mechanic for three years and was stationed in Germany, and served in the National Guard of North Carolina. In Charlotte, Leo was employed as a security guard by Security Forces, Inc., and Wells Fargo. He worked as a long distance truck driver for J & S Trucking of Lexington, North Carolina, and Roberson Transportation of Farmer City, Illinois.

Leo Married Jean McIntosh of Eben Junction, Michigan, on September 14, 1985, after meeting her through a Christian Penpal club. They recently celebrated 20 years of marriage with a renewal of vows ceremony at their church, Faith Covenant Church of God on N. Sharon Amity Road.

While serving in the Army Leo meet the Lord and then attended East Coast Bible College in Charlotte. He served as a volunteer with Truckstop Ministries with a desire to minister to fellow truck drivers. His dream was to be a licensed minister. Leo loved NASCAR, collected cars, and had a desire to adopt disabled children.

Leo requested that his body be donated to benefit medical research. Memorials may be directed to the Anatomy Gift Registry, 7526 Connelley Drive, Hanover, Maryland 21076. The memorial service will be held at Faith Covenant Church of God, 1148 N. Sharon Amity Road, Charlotte, North Carolina, on Sunday, December 11, 2005 at 11 a.m.
