Corinne Morgan

AMORY - Corinne Cannon Morgan, 97, died Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2005, at the Beverly Healthcare Center in Amory after a long illness. She was born June 4, 1908, in Itawamba County to the late James William and Lela Bell Nichols Cannon. She lived in the Centerville community and Fulton, and in Amory for several months. She married Clyde Whittier Morgan in 1938; he died in 1981. She was a homemaker, and a member of New Salem United Methodist Church and the Fulton chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. An avid gardener, she enjoyed reading and seamstress work.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at New Salem United Methodist Church with Bro. Henry Lee Jenkins officiating. Burial will be in the New Salem Cemetery. E.E. Pickle Funeral Home of Amory is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include two sons, E. Carroll Burton of Fulton and Samuel Whittier Morgan of Cresswell, Ore.; four daughters, Betty Ann Lockhart of Caledonia, Marjorie Morgan Moss of Saddle River, N.J., Carolyn Clyde Morgan of Smithville and Susan Lee Morgan of Fulton; one sister, Elota Knight; 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Ted Burton Jr.; and one granddaughter, Shelia Rose Cantrell.

Family members will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to service time Friday at the church.
